Every idea starts with a problem. 

Ours was simple: eye examinations in the UK aren’t thorough enough, and with the “bums on seats” revolution in the eye industry (that’s what we like to call it anyway), patients were being rushed through their eye tests and optometrists didn’t have enough time to refine their prescription or even have a proper chat to explain new findings to patients. 

We wanted to change this. When it comes to eye care, it should be individualised. You should receive a thorough, detailed examination, tailored to your needs. You should fully understand any changes that might be occurring, and future consequences and/or risks. Minor conditions should be treated and managed in-practice if appropriate, and pathology dealt with adequately and with the attention it deserves.

So when we found out that Nick and Andrew were looking for somebody to continue with the fabulous work that they had been doing at The Eye Studio, we jumped at the opportunity. After months of hard work, collaboration, lots of emails and coffee, we took over this fantastic practice in March 2020 (yes, 8 days after the WHO declared COVID-19 a pandemic, and 4 days before the first UK national lockdown)! We’ve rebranded as Diopter Eye Clinic. We aim to bring Nick and Andrew’s enthusiasm and warmth and combine it with our clinical expertise, Tanvi’s attention to detail and Ash’s big ideas to deliver quality eye care. Clinical excellence will always be at the core of everything we do.
