Tanvi Shah

After completing her BSc (Hons) in Optometry at the University of Manchester, Tanvi trained in a community practice with a strong clinical focus, before joining Moorfields Eye Hospital for her residency and specialist training, where she held a clinical role across the Anterior Eye, Paediatric, Cataract and Glaucoma services.
Her clinical interests span Anterior Eye disease, paediatric visual development and myopia management, and complex medical contact lens fitting — including high prescriptions, keratoconus, post-graft and post-surgical corneas, and toric lenses for astigmatism.
Tanvi continues to invest in her clinical education, currently completing a Master's degree in Clinical Optometry at Cardiff University. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and she lectures to fellow optometrists on myopia management. She has also been featured in national publications, including the BBC and Optometry Today.
Tanvi co-founded Diopter Eye Clinic six years ago, building a practice around the same principle that shaped her hospital training: that complex eye care should feel considered and personal, not clinical and rushed. Patients travel to see her from across the UK and internationally.
Ashish Chokshi

Ash read Optometry at Aston University, before completing his registration and training year in community practice. He then joined Moorfields Eye Hospital as its first Optometry Darzi Fellow in Clinical Leadership, working on projects to drive innovation in healthcare systems and service delivery, while continuing his specialist clinical training and later leading the Medical Retina module on a joint Master's programme with UCL and the Institute of Ophthalmology.
His clinical interests span Medical Retina — diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration and vascular disorders — and Anterior Eye disease.
Ash splits his time between Moorfields Eye Hospital, where he is Optometry Lead for the Medical Retina Service, and the practice. He is also an Innovation Mentor for the Royal College of General Practitioners, and consults for digital health technology companies on clinical innovation in eye care.
Ash co-founded Diopter six years ago, drawn to the idea that hospital-level clinical rigour and a genuinely personal patient experience shouldn't be mutually exclusive. He continues to see patients from across the UK and internationally alongside his hospital and academic work.
