Tanvi Shah

After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Optometry at The University of Manchester, Tanvi completed her training at a community practice that focussed on clinical services. She then went on to complete her residency and specialist training at Moorfields Eye Hospital, where she currently holds a prominent role. She has specialised in External Eye (corneal and front of eye disorders), Paediatrics (with a particular focus on visual development in babies and children), Cataract and Glaucoma sub-specialties. She is also experienced in medical contact lenses, and has a keen interest in fitting lenses for high prescriptions, toric lenses for astigmatism, keratoconus, post-graft and post-surgery corneas. Tanvi’s specialisations are supplemented with postgraduate study - she is currently completing her Masters degree in Clinical Optometry at Cardiff University. She is also working towards higher qualifications in Glaucoma and Independent Prescribing.

 
 

Ashish Chokshi

Ash read Optometry at Aston University, and went on to complete his registration and training year in community practice. He thereafter joined Moorfields Eye Hospital as their first Optometry Darzi Fellow in Clinical Leadership, where he worked on projects with a strong focus on facilitating innovation in healthcare systems and service delivery, whilst continuing with his specialist clinical training. He specialises in Medical Retina (diabetes, macular degeneration and vascular disorders, amongst others) and External Eye (corneal and front of eye disorders) sub-specialties. He currently splits his time between Moorfields Eye Hospital, University College London, consulting for digital health tech companies, and the practice. He is the Optometry Lead for the Medical Retina Service across Moorfields, the lead for post-graduate training in Medical Retina on a joint Masters programme between The Institute of Ophthalmology and University College London, as well as an Innovation Mentor for the Royal College of General Practitioners.
